Supercapacitors

Our group developed different porous 2D and 3D materials for high performance (Energy and power) based on graphene, Mxene, activated and templated carbons, metal oxides and chalcogenides, and conjugated polymers. We fabricate supercapacitor devices (Flexible, coin cells, pouch cells), including micro-supercapacitors.

Sensors

We design and synthesize high-performance sensing materials with a focus on pressure, temperature, and gas sensing.

  • sensors for battery monitoring

  • Wearable sensors

  • Implant sensors for medical applications

  • Wireless sensors

Battery Manufacturing

Our battery manufacturing research focuses on advanced electrode manufacturing and technologies, such as water-based electrode processing, dry coating, and multilayer coating for the preparation of thick electrodes. We develop various sustainable multifunctional binders, which is an important aspect of overall battery manufacturing. The goal is to increase the energy density, reduce the manufacturing cost, lower the energy consumption and minimize the environmental impact.

Rechargeable Batteries

The current research in the group is dedicated to the design, synthesis, and modification of various electrode active materials, including anode materials, cathode materials, binders, conductive additives, and solid-state electrolytes for their utilization in different batteries ( lithium, sodium, zinc, aluminum ion batteries, lithium-sulfur and sodium-sulfur batteries). The ultimate goal is to improve the performance, efficiency, and sustainability of rechargeable batteries for various applications.
